The Royal Regiment is a community marching band built around a simple belief: that learning to perform as one ensemble teaches musicianship, discipline and teamwork in a way few other activities can.

My name is Daniel Hartwell and I have directed The Royal Regiment for more than fifteen years. I trained as a music educator, played brass through school and college, and have spent my career on the rehearsal field — writing drill, tuning brass lines in the cold, and watching first-year members turn into section leaders. Everything published here comes from that hands-on experience, not from copied encyclopaedia entries.
